REX: Receptive Expressive ID 1.2

"REX," which stands for "Receptive Expressive ID," is a specialized application designed for interactive use between an adult (such as a parent, teacher, or therapist) and a client (including children, students, or patients). This app serves as a digital alternative to traditional flashcards, which can often be prohibitively expensive and time-consuming to prepare.

The application's functionality allows users to select from various visual categories, including but not limited to actions, animals, colors, common items, community helpers, food, furniture, and numbers. Users can customize their visual collections by selecting between one and twelve subjects tailored to their specific needs.

REX features a built-in shuffle function that randomizes the order of the selected visuals, providing an effective means to assess a client's ability to track and follow instructions. For Receptive Identification tasks, the client is prompted to visually identify a subject based on verbal cues provided by the adult. Conversely, for Expressive Identification tasks, the adult will visually present a subject for the client to verbally identify.

This versatility allows adjustments to the collections or category selections at any time, enabling educators or therapists to shuffle and repeat sessions as needed. REX thus offers a flexible and engaging approach to support learning and communication development.
